Autumn Crochet

Wat een heerlijk herfstweer! Nog niet te koud, het zonnetje dat ons nog regelmatig verwarmt. En als je dan ook nog met een aantal leuke patroontjes het seizoen binnen kan halen voor als het wel te geur wordt, wat wil je dan nog meer? De kinderen vinden de haaksels heerlijk om mee te spelen. What a wonderful start of Autumn in the Netherlands! Not too cold, the sun still coming through. And lots of lovely autumn patterns to bring a bit of the season inside. Still here! Working on tea cosies!

Ik ben een hele poos afwezig geweest in de blog-wereld. Niets ernstigs aan de hand, wel veel werkgerelateerde stress (zie Engelstalige toelichting). En een jong gezin natuurlijk, dat is altijd druk :-) Maar nu weer helemaal terug! Ik heb sinds april wel veel berichten aangemaakt, maar ik heb ze nooit geplaatst door het ontbreken van tekst of foto's. In de komende weken zal ik de projecten waar ik aan gewerkt heb updaten.

Mijn nieuwste hobby is het breien en haken van theemutsen! Ik heb er zelfs een apart blog aan gewijd: www.52teacosies.blogspot.nl Als je het leuk vindt kun je me ook in dit avontuur volgen. Het is mijn streven om elke week, een jaar lang, een theemuts te maken. Momenteel werk ik aan theemuts nummer 3. Nog 50 te gaan dus. Een mooie uitdaging! Jullie zijn van harte welkom om mij te volgen. En misschien ook om tips achter te laten waar mooie patronen voor theemutsen te vinden zijn. Ik houd mij van harte aanbevolen!

Op dit blog blijf ik, naast de theemutsen, ook mijn overige projecten plaatsen. Ik ben uiteraard wel van plan om meer dan alleen theemutsen te blijven maken.

It has been quite for a while on my blog. My before last post was some time before the summer holiday. This time of year is always hectic in the educational field, but for me it was extra hectic and emotional this year because of the fact that I had to end my research project due to my employer’s financial situation. I did several attempts to save it, but I didn't succeed. They don't finance it anymore and I can't pay for it myself. So it all ended.

The summer holiday was a good time to evaluate my job and the opportunities that I still had. Luckily my employer found a very nice position for me in which I am very happy now. It gives me a sense of fulfilment and opportunity to grow. It also gives me more energy physically at the end of the day, because I don't have to work behind the computer the whole day. And for me returning home with more energy means I have enough energy left for my craft projects in the evenings. HOORAY! 

I did keep up with by blog posts, but they all remained drafts. This month I will finish them and add photos so you can all see what I have been up to.

What I can show you now are my newest creations and newest addiction: tea cosies! My mother gave me a book recently from the 'Queen of all tea cosies' Loani Prior and I immediately loved it! In the coming year I want to try to make a tea cosy per week. Quite a challenge, but I started it very seriously and enthusiastically and I am very keen on succeeding. A girl needs a challenge right?
